The Department of Mathematics was established in the year 2010 with the introduction of the undergraduate course. The Department involves the U.G. students in the Industry-Interaction Programmes to develop their practical knowledge and skills in Mathematics. The Department moulds students with strong mathematical foundation, analytical and computational skills and abstract understanding to young graduate. Mathematics enables them to handle any industrial and research problems.The experience and talents of our faculty combine to create excellent results as well as teaching experience.
Program Outcomes (POs):
PO 1: Mathematicians expand knowledge in areas such as – Algebra and Geometry using new rules, theories and concepts.
PO 2: Acquire the abilities in quantitative and problem solving.
PO 3: Hold a wide range of rewarding positions in both public and private sector.
PO 4: Analyze and grasp abstract ideas to apply them to important practical problems.

CO 1 : Be able to present mathematical arguments with accuracy and clarity, besides having the competency to solve advanced numerical problems and handle large quantities of data.

Career Opportunities
B.Sc. Mathematics graduates are required in Banking and Business services, Government Jobs, Data scientists, Data Data Analyst, Investment and Insurance among many other employment areas. They can pursue a career in teaching students in schools or colleges after their PG degree. B.Sc. Mathematics can also explore a career in civil services through UPSC and TNPSC exams.

Upon graduating in this stream, one can pursue courses such as MBA, M.Sc. Mathematics, M.Sc. Computer Science etc.
